• How can HomeTurf 53 be “high-quality” at such a low price?
  • The answer is spelled out in our comparison chart. We can offer a better product at a better price because we cut out the middleman.
• What kind of warranty does HomeTurf 53 come with?
  • HomeTurf 53™ is owned by the nationally-known brand Perfect Turf®. So HomeTurf 53™ comes with the same great 8-year NOT pro-rated warranty on fading and fiber-degradation as all Perfect Turf® products.
• Why would anyone pay more for any other turf?
  • There are good reasons to consider other turfs. If using with large dogs and not a large area, Perfect Turf® PetGrass®
    is definitely a better product. Some people may like the design, look, feel of a different, but more expensive turf. Some applications require a different turf such a playgrounds with a high fall height to protect against.
• Does HomeTurf 53 have a warranty?
  • Yes, like all Perfect Turf® products, HomeTurf 53 comes with an industry standard 8-year warranty. The warranty covers fiber degradation, uneven fading and workmanship. In addition, most installers will warranty their installation for 1 or 2 years. Perfect Turf® is expected to last at least 15 years under normal conditions.
• How does HomeTurf 53 handle rain and snow?
  • No problem, HomeTurf 53 is made to withstand ALL the elements.
    The turf typically drains at 30-40 gallons per minute per square yard.
    Order samples of the ones that interest you on our site. Put them through a torture test, HomeTurf 53 is tough!
• How do I clean HomeTurf 53?
  • HomeTurf 53 needs very little maintenance. In the fall, use a rake or blower to clean up leaves. To remove animal feces, you just scoop it up and, in the rare occasion it leaves a mess, just wash the area with a garden hose.
• Can HomeTurf 53 use it on a balcony, deck or rooftop?
  • Absolutely!  Contact us to discuss your project and your needs.
    We have different systems for balconies, decks and rooftops depending on a number of factors that we would be happy to discuss with you at your convenience.
• What do you all recommend as a base prep?
  • For standard installations one would remove the existing sod and put down 2-4″ of crushed rock base (similar to the prep for brick patios, sidewalks and driveways). Different applications require different base construction, please contact us for information on your specific needs.
• Can I put HomeTurf 53 in my whole yard?
  • Yes, synthetic turf is a method of landscaping that is approved by all village ordinances. It is also considered a “green” product that can help reduce air pollution and save fresh water while it helps you save money and eliminate the time spent on lawn maintenance!
• Is HomeTurf 53 durable enough to handle many dogs on it daily?
  • You will love having HomeTurf 53 for your dogs. Cleans up easily. Handles big dogs with no problem. Synthetic turf is used everywhere from Canada to Arizona, so no problem handling the snow and temperature changes. It is anchored around the perimeter and in the interior by nails. It should be extra anchored by laying down a treated 4×4 into the ground around the perimeter and nailing the turf to that. Plus, you can put 1-2 pounds per square foot of sand in the turf (you’ll never see it after it is broomed to the bottom). For areas over 400 sq ft, that is 500-800 pounds of sand holding it down.
• What if my pet likes to dig?
  • HomeTurf 53 is extremely durable and most dogs will give up after an unsuccessful dig. Another solution is to place patio bricks on top of the turf in the problem areas.
• Does it feel like real grass?
  • HomeTurf 53 is soft, attractive and feels as dense as turf costing much more. No synthetic turf will feel exactly like real grass, but it comes pretty darn close!
